Building a deer blind out of limbs is a great way to enjoy the use of a ground blind while spending very little money and getting the most out of your hunt. A homemade ground blind can be very rewarding and will provide excellent concealment while hunting those tough to hunt whitetail deer.
Instructions
1. Wear gloves. Grab your gloves and head off to your favorite hunting spot that you think will be a great place to set up your future ground blind. Begin your blind by cutting up the pine limbs so that they will be easier to drag and set into place. If you will cut the limbs toward the base of the tree you can stack them up in a nice pile making it easier to maneuver.
2. Devise a plan. Drag the limbs about 20 yards from the deer trail and begin building the blind by alternating the pine limbs so that the larger part of the limbs will not all be facing the same way. This will make a nice even blind that will not be leaning and avoid the possibility of falling over in a gust of wind.
3. Build the blind. Stack the limbs in around you in a 4 by 4 square area so that you can sit up your favorite chair in the middle. Stacking the limbs in a square pattern will allow you to have a better chance of shooting in case the deer decides not to come straight up the trail you think he will come in on. After you have built up the ground blind about 2 feet tall make sure you step on the limbs and mash them down to allow for a better foundation. Once you have completed the mashing process continue to build up the blind so that it measures at least 4 feet tall.
4. Relax and hunt. Unpack your favorite chair and place it in the middle of your new ground blind. Placing your chair in the blind will allow you to determine the height you would like but also will allow the deer to get accustomed to the scent of the chair, causing them to be a little more at ease.

Tips Warnings
By using pine limbs, the odor of the chair and clothing will not be as potent.
If archery hunting, make sure you pull the bow back making sure there are no obstructions to get in the way before that big buck steps out in front of your new blind.
The height of the blind will depend on personal preference.
