A Sprayer To A Faucet

Sprayers with long hoses make cleaning pots and pans much easier.

Adding a sprayer to a faucet is useful in kitchen settings. Sprayers deliver a shower of water and have a long, flexible hose to direct the water in any given location. This makes cleaning out pots and pans much easier because you can spray the water directly into and around surfaces. The sprayer rests in its own holder that is installed through an access port on the kitchen sink.

Instructions

1. Clean out the cabinet under your sink to gain access. Turn off the hot and cold water supply valves. Open the handles on the faucet to drain out any remaining water.

2. Place plumber's putty under the holder flange that will sit on top of the access hole. Slide it into place, slide on the washer from underneath and screw on the retaining nut.

3. Unscrew the cap from the supply tube that feeds the sprayer. This supply tube will be located in the center of the faucet.

4. Coat the threads of supply tube with thread sealant.

5. Feed the hose down through the opening in the holder flange. Screw the nut on the end of the hose to the supply tube. Tighten with a wrench.

6. Turn the water supply back on to both the hot and cold water lines. Test the sprayer by turning the faucet handles on and pressing the trigger on the sprayer. Water should pour from it.

Tips Warnings

Peel away excess plumber's putty once the retaining nut is secure.

Do not overtighten the nut that connects the hose to the supply tube. This may lead to a water leak. Snug is enough.
