Buy Postage Stamps At An Atm

The ability to buy postage stamps at an ATM is a convenient feature now offered by many banks. If you have an ATM-compatible debit or credit card, you can do it in less than 5 minutes and save yourself a trip to the post office.

Instructions

1. Make sure the ATM you visit carries postage stamps. If you have to go out of your way to check the machine, call the bank and ask ahead of time.

2. Insert your card and enter your pin number, just as you would for a banking transaction.

3. Select More Options from the menu. If you can buy postage stamps at this ATM, it should say so. Choose Buy Postage.

4. Approve the number of stamps and the price.

5. Realize that you may be charged a fee for this transaction, especially if you buy postage stamps from the ATM of a bank you don't use regularly. Press the button to approve the fee and collect your stamps.

6. Decide whether you would like to make any other transactions at the ATM, then remember to pick up your card.

Tips Warnings

Most ATMs that sell stamps only carry standard first-class letter stamps. If you need postcard stamps or other denominations, you will probably need to buy them at a post office.
