McAfee Security Center, if you have it, is likely a very important part of your computer's anti-virus protection. If the system is corrupted or not running properly, however, you may have to reinstall it. Reinstalling it is a process that can take as little as a few minutes and can be done with a little tinkering within your computer's programs.
Instructions
1. Click Start on the lower left corner of your desktop and click the Computer tab.
2. Click on the search bar on the top of the Computer menu box. Enter McAfee into the bar and press Enter on your keyboard. A list will be populated in the search box that will include your McAfee Security Center program.
3. Click Add and Remove Programs on the left side of your Computer menu box. Click on and highlight McAfee Security Center.
4. Click on Remove once prompted with a tab after clicking on McAfee Security Center. Next you will be shown a box given you the option to remove or reinstall. Click Reinstall.
5. Click OK on the next tab, and specify that extras that you want on the next few tabs and click Finish. The McAfee will likely take a minute or two to reinstall.
6. Restart your computer once the program has finished reinstalling. After the computer reboots, click the McAfee tab on your desktop and make sure that the program is running correctly now.
