Make Cheese Sauce For Veggies

Use this cheese sauce recipe for your favorite vegitable like broccoli, corn or cauliflour. You may find many other uses for this sauce as well.

Instructions

1. Melt the margarine in the pot over medium heat until melted and bubbly. Stir with a wooden spoon while doing so.

2. Add the flour to the melted butter and stir continuously until smooth. This mixture should be very thick and clumped together.

3. Add the milk all at once and and continue to stir with the wooden spoon over medium-high heat. Be patient, this part takes a few minutes, but is worth the trouble. As you stir and the mixture cooks, it will start to thicken.

4. When the sauce approaches the consistency of pancake batter, it is time to add the cheese. Turn the heat to low. Stir in the grated cheese a little at a time, giving the cheese time to melt. Taste the sauce occasionally, and stop adding cheese when you achieve the flavor and thickness you want.

5. Remove the sauce from the heat, and add salt and pepper to taste. Your sauce should be thick, creamy and cheesy. It will be ready to serve immediately.

6. Pour it over steamed vegetables and enjoy.
