Make Gravy From Gravy Mix

Serve the gravy in a gravy boat for presentation.

Gravy moistens and enhances the flavor of the meat you are serving for dinner, especially if the gravy is made from the juices of the meat. Gravy also pairs well with mashed potatoes, and in the South, gravy accompanies freshly baked biscuits. When preparing a big dinner, however, sometimes taking the time to create a gravy mixture from scratch is just too time consuming. Thankfully, there are plenty of prepared gravy mixes available where all you need to add is water. Gravy mixes come in many meat flavors as well as other complimentary flavors to enhance any dish.

Instructions

1. Pour the gravy mix into a small saucepan.

2. Gradually stir in 1 cup of water, or whatever amount the back of the package requires.

3. Bring the mixture to medium-high heat, stirring frequently until the gravy begins to boil slightly.

4. Reduce the heat and simmer for one minute before removing from the heat. The gravy will thicken upon standing.
