Make Freezer Peach Jam

Turn your fresh ripe peaches into a delicious jam. It is important to choose peaches that are not under-ripened to ensure your jam tastes great. Freezer jam is simple to make, and it does not require a lot of work. Peach freezer jam only requires a few basic ingredients--peaches, apple juice, lemon, pectin and sugar--which all make the jam inexpensive.

Instructions

1. Remove pits from the peaches. Cut the peaches into quarters.

2. Place the peaches in a food processor. Remove 3 cups of pureed peaches.

3. Add the apple juice, lemon zest and lemon juice to a saucepan over medium-high heat. Slowly add the pectin until it completely dissolves.

4. Bring the mixture to a boil. Stir the mixture frequently, and boil hard for 1 minute. Remove the saucepan from the heat.

5. Add the 3 cups of peaches. Continue to stir the mixture while you add enough sugar to suit your tastes until it dissolves. Stir vigorously for 1 minute.

6. Divide the jam into six 8-ounce clean canning jars. You can also store the freezer jam in plastic containers that are freezer safe. Leave ½ inch of space at the top of each jar because the jam will expand in the freezer.

7. Cover the jars or plastic containers with lids and allow the jam to sit at room temperature.

8. Allow the jam to set for 24 hours. Store the jam in the freezer until it's ready to use.
