Tomato, Vinegar and Pepper-Based Condiments
An opened ketchup bottle can last for eight to 12 months if stored in the refrigerator, and one month if stored at room temperature. Vinegar can last for one year if left opened. Jarred salsas will last for about two months if kept refrigerated. Chili sauce will last for six to eight months, but Tabasco sauce will last for two to five years. Taco sauce will last for two years. Jarred jalapenos will last for up to six months in the refrigerator.
Dairy
Mayonnaise will last for two to six months in the refrigerator, while butter will only last for about two weeks. Cream cheese will also last for about two weeks. Margarine will last for up to six months. Both whipped cream and sour cream have short shelf lives, at two weeks and three weeks, respectively. The condiment with the shortest shelf life is hollandaise sauce. It will only last for one day before it expires.

The shelf lives of sauces vary greatly. Bearnaise will last for two days, while homemade garlic sauce will only last for one day. Cocktail sauce will last for six to eight months, while tartar sauce will expire after three months. Steak sauce lasts for a whole year. Mustard stays edible for six to eight months. Worcestershire and soy sauce will both stay good for a year. Jams, jellies, preserves and maple syrup all last for a year in the refrigerator.
