Get Meat Juices Off Of Meatloaf

Meatloaf is a traditional meal made of ground beef.

Draining the meat juices from the meatloaf can make the difference between a healthy dinner and a grease-drenched slab of meat. When baked, meatloaf naturally acquires juices that are tasty for some, but can spoil the eating experience for others. The grease can increase the amount of unwanted calories and grams of fat. The positioning of the meatloaf along with some tools can help you get most of the juices from the meatloaf.

Instructions

1. Bake the meatloaf in a meatloaf pan. While baking, the juices from the first pan will drop into the drip pan below.

2. Detach the two pans, then take the meatloaf from the oven. While it is still hot, hold the meatloaf with gloves and flip it over and drain the juices into the bottom pan. Since you baked the meatloaf into a mountain shape, the juice will be on the edged parts of the meatloaf.

3. Cut into the edges of the meatloaf and locate the remaining juices at the bottom of the pan. Use a baster to suck the remain juices from the pan and squeeze them into the bottom pan; do not flip the meatloaf upside-down, because meat crumbs can easily go into the draining bowl and become drenched with grease and fat.

4. Let the meat juices cool down in the bottom pan, then throw the juices into the trash.
