Baked Barbecue Pork Chops With Jack Daniel'S

Pork chops are good for baking, roasting, braising and grilling.

Traditional barbecue is often slow-roasted on the grill or over an open fire pit. If you're pressed for time or equipment, you can make a tasty barbecue meal in the oven. Pork is an ideal meat for barbecue as it becomes tender when basted in a tangy marinade and roasted or baked. Juicy oven-barbecued pork chops turn a weekend feast into a weeknight treat.

Instructions

Preparation

1. Combine ketchup, Jack Daniel's whiskey, syrup, vinegar, lemon juice, Worcestershire, soy sauce, pepper, mustard and garlic in a saucepan.

2. Bring the sauce to a boil. Simmer for 10 minutes and remove pan from heat. Allow sauce to cool.

3. Rinse pork chops and pat dry with a paper towel.

4. Put the pork chops in a resealable plastic bag and pour half the sauce over the chops. Remove as much air as possible from the bag. Seal and refrigerate for at least two hours.

5. Reserve the remaining marinade in a bowl and refrigerate.

Cooking

6. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.

7. Place marinated chops in a baking pan and brush the reserved marinade over the chops with a pastry brush.

8. Cook chops uncovered for 1 hour, basting them with the reserved sauce approximately every 20 minutes.
