Wine clubs offer a new way for wine connoisseurs or novices to experience and sample a variety of wines from around the world. Clubs are usually hosted by vineyards or specialty wine shops, and membership in a wine club enables monthly or quarterly shipments of wines relative to the club's theme and varietals. Interstate shipping laws vary, but a 2008 amendment to Georgia's direct-shipping laws allow for wine club shipments to the state.
Wolf Mountain Vineyards
Wolf Mountain Vineyards in northern Georgia hosts a quarterly wine club. The vineyard offers shipping to Georgia, Florida, North Carolina, Colorado and California. Pickup is also available. Wolf Mountain's flexible club features three membership levels: Cavist, Cellar Master and Howling Wolf.
The minimum initial purchase for membership at the Cavist level is three bottles of wine, allowing for quarterly shipments of three bottles with an average total charge of $70. The Cellar Master and Howling Wolf memberships operate in the same fashion, but with six-bottle and 1-case purchases respectively. Membership benefits also include discounts on purchases, invitation-only events and free wine samples when visiting the vineyard.

Hinton's Wine Store
Former NFL offensive lineman Chris Hinton owns and operates Hinton's Wine Store in Alpharetta, Georgia. The store features a tasting room, wine bar and a Wine of the Month Club. Club enrollment allows members to select to receive either one or two bottles each month from a variety of regions. Members can elect to receive only red, only white or mixed selections.
Membership in the wine club at Hinton's Wine Store is initially free and also includes store discounts and invitations to tastings and special events.

The Vineyard Wine Market
The Vineyard Wine Market in Atlanta offers a social wine club with monthly tasting events. Members enjoy complimentary monthly wine tastings of rare wines from around the globe and the opportunity to take home any two bottles from the tasting selections. Monthly membership is $39.99, and in addition to tastings, members receive a monthly newsletter, in-store case discounts and a detailed tasting sheet. A portion of the membership fees go to benefit the Noah's Ark charities. Selected wines must be picked up in-store, as delivery is not available.
