List Of Tropical Drinks

Tropical drinks

Tropical drinks are frothy, fun and fabulous. Whether you are trying to plan a tropical beach themed party to get you through a long winter, or planning your wish-list of tropical drinks for your upcoming vacation, knowing about the most popular and delicious tropical drinks can be great fun.

Pina Colada

The pina colada is a light and frothy coconut delight. It is made with equal parts rum, coconut cream and crushed pineapple. Blend the ingredients with ice over high speed to create the perfect level of foam and froth. Garnish with a pineapple or a cherry, and a drink umbrella, or both. Pina coladas can also be made in non-alcoholic form to serve as a refreshing delight. Just leave out the rum.

Frozen Margarita

Adding ice to the traditional margarita recipe makes the drink just a tad more tropical and delicious for those hot days. Make your frozen margarita by mixing 3 oz. of tequila (use white tequila for the best flavor), 1 oz. of triple sec, 2 oz. of lime juice and a cup of crushed ice. Garnish with a lime wedge, dust the edge of the glass with salt and enjoy.

Mai Tai

Mai Tai's were allegedly invented in a restaurant in California. Although their history is in dispute, their place as a favorite tropical drink is undeniable, due to their fun pineapple-based flavor and their feature role in the Elvis film Blue Hawaii. Make your own Mai Tai's by mixing 1 oz. of light rum, 1/2 oz. Triple Sec, 1/2 oz. Creme de Almond, a 1/2 oz. dark rum, pineapple juice and a splash of sweet and sour mix.
