Make A Garbage Truck Cupcake Topper

Make a Garbage Truck Cupcake Topper

Throwing a garbage-truck themed party means you can center all of the items at the party around one theme. Create cupcake toppers to enhance the garbage-truck theme. Use common household and craft items to add creativity of to your party cupcakes. These items -- along with a desktop-publishing program -- will help you create garbage truck-themed cupcake toppers that will complement the rest of your garbage-truck party decorations.

Instructions

1. Open a new document in your desktop-publishing program. Choose the option to create a sticker. Identify the size sticker you are creating from the back of the label sheet or the box the sticker sheets came in. Once you choose the correct size, the area on your desktop publishing screen will change to match the sticker area you have to work with in order to add a design.

2. Cut and paste the electronic picture of the garbage truck onto the sticker that shows on your desktop-publishing program. Adjust the size of the picture so it fits within the borders of the sticker on your screen. Save your sticker creation.

3. Print a test sheet of stickers. Print a sheet of stickers onto a plain sheet of white copy paper. Place the sheet under a sheet of stickers so that the design side is facing up. Hold the two sheets on top of each other up to the light, so that you can verify that the design fits into the sticker area, without wasting a sheet of stickers. Make any final adjustments, such as moving the truck picture on your desktop-publishing program to fit in the area. If you make any changes, save the changes and print a test sheet until you have the final version.

4. Print a sheet of the stickers on to the sticker sheet. Set it aside and allow the ink to dry for three to five minutes.

5. Place a round metal bottle cap, such as that from a beer or soda bottle, on flat working surface. Peel one of the stickers from the printer sheet and place it on the top of the bottle cap.

6. Turn the bottle cap over so that the bottom of the cap is facing up. Place a glue dot on the rim of the bottle cap so that you have one glue dot on the top and one on the bottom. Attach the toothpick to the glue dots, leaving enough of the toothpick on the bottom to push into the top of the frosted cupcake.
