Heated brie goes well with fruit and wine.
Brie cheese, sometimes called the "Queen of Cheeses," is a soft, creamy cheese made from cow's milk. It is sold in rounds and has a creamy center with an edible rind. It makes a sophisticated appetizer or dessert and is a nice accompaniment to wine and fruit. Although it can be eaten at room temperature, it is a special treat when heated.
Instructions
1. Cut the top rind off the cheese. Place the cheese on a microwave-safe plate, and microwave on high for 60 seconds. You may need to heat it for an additional 30 to 60 seconds if it is not soft and hot after the first minute. Serve with sliced fruits or crackers.
2. Heat the cheese in an oven. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Slice the top rind off the brie. Place the cheese on a baking sheet lined with foil, and bake for 8 to 10 minutes.
3. Fry it in a pan. French chefs often warm brie cheese by preheating a skillet until it is hot, sliding the cheese into the ungreased pan, and heating it for about 5 seconds per side.
