Make A Ritz Cocktail

Make a Ritz Cocktail

The Ritz Cocktail is a drink invented by master mixologist Dale DeGroff in the 1980s. DeGroff created what he now calls his signature cocktail in New York's Rainbow Room as a tribute to the champagne cocktail.

If you want to add a little luxury to your brunch routine, the Ritz cocktail has the right touch of fizz and class to do the job. The Ritz is a sweet yet complex drink made with cognac, Cointreau, maraschino liqueur, freshly squeezed lemon juice and champagne.

This recipe makes one Ritz Cocktail, served straight up in a chilled cocktail glass and garnished with a lemon twist.

Instructions

1. Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with crushed ice.

2. Add the cognac, Cointreau, maraschino liqueur, freshly squeezed lemon juice and champagne.

3. Cover the cocktail shaker and shake gently for 15 to 20 seconds.

4. Strain the contents of the cocktail shaker into a chilled cocktail glass.

5. Garnish the drink with a twisted lemon peel and serve immediately.
