Make The Best Homemade Salsa

Salsa is more popular than ketchup in the United States for a condiment. It is most often seen as an accompaniment to tortilla chips, but you can use it in many other applications as well. Try topping barbecued chicken or pork with salsa instead of barbecue sauce. It also makes a spicy topping for fish. Dress up your next sandwich by replacing the mayonnaise with salsa. Because salsa means sauce, you can technically use anything you have to make it, but the most familiar recipe is tomato salsa. Salsa is one of the easiest things to prepare. The trick to the best homemade salsa is to make it fresh and use the best ingredients available.

Instructions

1. Chop the tomatoes, onion, jalapenos and green chiles into bits the same size using the knife.

2. Combine the chopped vegetables in a bowl.

3. Add the minced garlic to the bowl.

4. Sprinkle the vegetables with salt.

5. Stir in the lime juice to combine.

6. Place the salsa in the refrigerator for 1 to 2 hours (or longer) to let the flavors meld.
