Instructions

1. Pour a bag of prewashed baby greens into a large salad bowl. The baby greens can include spinach and arugula, which make for the perfect bite.

2. Slice up one Granny Smith apple into small, thin pieces. Toss into the salad bowl with the greens.

3. Chop up a small red onion until you have about 1/4 cup. Add it to the rest of the salad mixture. Add a handful of chopped walnuts into the bowl, as well. You can substitute almonds for the walnuts, if you please.

4. Slice about 8 oz. of fresh mozzarella cheese. You can purchase fresh mozzarella from most any gourmet market or food store. It's typically found in the deli section with other gourmet cheeses. If you don't have fresh mozzarella, packaged mozzarella will suffice.

5. Add 1/4 cup of good balsamic vinegar to a small bowl. Then, mix in 1/3 cup of olive or vegetable oil. Add salt and pepper to taste and mix gently.

6. Pour your balsamic dressing over the salad mixture and toss gently. You can now serve the salad to your guests or refrigerate the blend for up to a day.
