Rice can be prepared in different ways.
For many people, rice is a staple used to meet dietary needs. Rice is an important grain in Asia, the Middle East and Latin America, among other places. As there are different types of rice, such as long grain and short grain, rice can be prepared for a multitude of dishes. One of the easier ways to prepare rice is by using a Cuisinart Rice Cooker.
Instructions
1. Unpack your Cuisinart Rice Cooker. Six pieces come in the rice cooker's box. The rice cooker parts are the glass lid, steaming tray, cooking pot and the stainless steel housing that heats up. In addition, a measuring cup and rice paddle are included. Be certain that all parts are there when you unpack your rice cooker.
2. Assemble the rice cooker. Start by rinsing the cooking pot, steaming tray and glass lid in soapy water. After these pieces are rinsed and dried, wipe down the rice cooker, inside and out. Place the cooking pot in the base of the unit before placing the steaming tray in the cooking pot with the open end facing downward. Put the lid on the cooking pot, and your Cuisinart Rice cooker is ready to use.
3. Operate the Cuisinart Rice Cooker. In addition to cooking your rice, the cooker can also steam and reheat it. As the cooker has an indicator switch that allows the option to either cook or warm, each of the types of operation requires a different setting and different amounts of water. For instance, cooking involves seven steps, while your rice can be steamed in only six steps.
4. Clean the product after using it. Make sure the rice cooker is unplugged before you clean it. The cooking pot, steaming tray and lid are all dishwasher-safe. If you find it necessary to scour the rice cooker and its parts, use only a nonabrasive cleanser or dishwashing liquid and a nylon pad or brush. Because this is an electrical appliance, never immerse the base of the rice cooker in water.
