Make Pickled Garlic Recipe

Pickled Garlic Recipe

This is a great pickled garlic recipe. It's fun to put together and enjoy with a nice glass of red wine. The following article will detail all the steps for making this pickled garlic recipe.

Instructions

1. For this pickled garlic recipe you will need to prepare the spiced brine ahead of time. Place the pepper flakes, the ground mustard, the salt and the sugar in a mason jar with the white wine and white vinegar. Let this mixture stand for 48 hours in the refrigerator. If the sugar is not dissolving, give it a good shake every few hours.

2. Peel all the garlic. Make sure you do not leave any paper on the garlic cloves for this pickled garlic recipe.

3. Chop up the red bell pepper into quarter inch square pieces. If you prefer bigger pieces, you can do that.

4. Let the brine sit on the counter so that any spices which are floating in it sink to the bottom. This pickled garlic recipe should not have anything floating in it besides garlic and bell pepper.

5. Pack your mason jars with the garlic and bell pepper. Make sure they are packed full to the top.

6. Slowly pour the brine over the packed garlic to fill the mason jars. If you pour slowly, you should be able to leave the majority of the spices in the bottom of the jar instead of transferring it to the garlic. Much of the flavor should have already been infused into the brine and will now infuse into the garlic.

7. Seal the jars with scalded lids and place in a hot water bath for 10 minutes to seal them. Store these in a cold dark place for 2-4 weeks before eating them.
