Make A Washington Apple

When many people think of a Washington apple, they think of a palm size ball of yummy fruit. Some are unaware that there is a great cocktail also named a Washington apple. While sounding complicated to make, it surely isn't. Follow these steps to make a Washington apple for your next cocktail party.

Instructions

1. Fill a cocktail shaker with crushed or cubed ice. If using crushed ice, beware that when you shake the drink it will create a frothy type cocktail. If you want nothing more than a cold Washington apple beverage, choose cubed ice for your shaker.

2. Choose your favorite brand of whiskey. The most common one to use is Crown Royal. Measure 3 oz. of the whiskey and pour it into a cocktail shaker.

3. Determine if you would like to use sour Apple Pucker or Apple Schnapps for the apple flavoring. You will need to measure and add 3 oz. of the mix to the whiskey in the cocktail shaker.

4. Add four ounces of cranberry juice to the drink mix in the shaker. If you feel that straight cranberry juice is too tart for your taste then you can substitute a cranberry-apple blended juice for it instead.

5. Place the lid on the shaker securely and shake vigorously for thirty seconds to a minute to combine all the liquids. This will also finish the chilling process of the Washington apple.

6. Pour the mixed Washington apple cocktail into a highball or Collins glass. Add a little garnish to the drink with a cherry or an apple slice along the rim of the glass and enjoy.
