Make Vegetable Smoothies

Vegetable smoothies are a nutritious breakfast, lunch or snack for those who are on the go. It's also a great way to get your recommended daily intake of five to nine fruits and vegetables. All you need is a blender, carrots, tomatoes, spinach, or whatever veggies that you prefer. Follow the steps below to prepare this healthful drink.

Instructions

1. Gather the vegetables and other ingredients. De-stem and slice two or three medium tomatoes, or enough to have two cups.

2. Chop one red bell pepper and one or two carrots. Peel one cucumber or a zucchini into smaller pieces to make one-half cup.

3. Add the tomatoes, red bell peppers, carrots, and cucumbers or zucchinis into your blender. Add 1/4 teaspoon each of salt, pepper and hot sauce, two teaspoons of Worcestershire sauce, three tablespoons of lemon juice and two tablespoons of chopped scallions.

4. Process all of the ingredients in the blender on high until the mixture is smooth. This takes up to three minutes.

5. Chill the vegetable smoothie mixture in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes. Serve the smoothie in glasses with or without ice. The recipe makes at least four servings.
