Eggless Breakfast Ideas

Just because you're avoiding eggs doesn't mean you should avoid breakfast.

Eggs are a common ingredient served in many breakfast dishes across America. Those aiming for a diet low in cholesterol, those who dislike eggs or vegans look for breakfast alternatives. Fortunately, there are plenty of egg-less breakfast options that are still high in protein. Even without eggs, you're able to create a delicious, filling meal to keep energy up throughout the morning.

Protein

Eggs are unnecessary to create a delicious breakfast burrito.

Without eggs, protein may be added to a diet with meats such as chicken or pork. Add the meat to bread with cheese and a b chamel sauce for a delicious sandwich. Meat may also be added to a breakfast burrito, minus the egg, or a buttermilk biscuit.

If you're trying to avoid meat, as well as eggs, opt for the protein found in nuts. Almonds, cashews or regular peanuts may be added to muffins, fruit salad, or crushed and added to a bagel spread.

Fruit and Vegetables

Fruit salad with a bit of yogurt is a sweet treat that's also healthy.

Fruits and vegetables are versatile, so it's not difficult to figure out ways to implement them into your egg-less diet. Fruits may be eaten whole for breakfast or added to delicious concoctions such as smoothies created with fruit, ice and coconut milk or a fruit parfait with yogurt. Sprinkle fruit on top of hot oatmeal.

Vegetables may be added to a whole-grain tortilla, combined with cheese and refried beans to create a breakfast burrito. Sweet potatoes may be baked and topped with a bit of cinnamon for a sweet breakfast treat.

Vegan Dishes

Tofu may be implemented into breakfast as an egg alternative.

Tofu, a high source of protein, may be crumbled and sauteed with vegetables, parsley and rosemary for a rich, healthy breakfast. If the tofu is packed in water, simply drain the water before using.

Rice may be simmered in orange juice, apple juice or pineapple juice to create a warm citrus porridge or cooked in coconut milk with a drop or two of vanilla to create a pudding. Granola and nuts may be added to any of the vegan dishes for an extra boost of flavor.

Breakfast Bars

Cereal bars with a piece of fruit provide a quick, nutritious breakfast option.

Breakfast bars may be made at home with coconut, pretzels, corn puffs, dried fruit, granola, nuts and rice cereal. Combine all of the ingredients you'll be using with a bit of raw honey--enough to create a sticky mixture--and flatten in a baking dish. Place in the refrigerator for two hours then cut into bars. Breakfast bars are an easy snack for those on the-go.
