Cereal tasts better when it's crunchy.
Cereal is made to be crunchy, but after it's been exposed to moisture in the air, it could turn soggy. This could happen if someone left the box open, or it could happen after a period of time, even in a closed container. You could use the stale cereal in a muffin recipe, but if you don't want to bake muffins, you can make them crunchy by again heating them in the oven.
Instructions
1. Place a rack in the middle of your oven and turn the oven temperature to 425 degrees Fahrenheit. Allow it to preheat for 15 minutes.
2. Spread stale cereal out on a large cookie sheet. Keep the cereal in a single layer. If it is piled on top of each other, the bottom pieces may not get crispy. Use a second cookie sheet if you have more cereal.
3. Place the cookie sheet into the preheated oven, on the middle rack. The moisture in the cereal will evaporate and cereal will dry out in the oven's heat. Leave it in for five minutes.
4. Remove the cookie sheet from the oven and place the cookie sheet on the top of the stove, or on a towel placed on the counter. Allow the cereal to cool down, which should take about two hours.
5. Scoop up the cereal with your hands and put it into an airtight container for future use. Be sure wash your hands before handling the cereal.
