Holiday Popcorn Recipes

Holiday Popcorn


Celebrate any holiday with delicious popcorn made in delectable ways. Whether you make creative popcorn balls or caramel popcorn with special added ingredients, these holiday popcorn recipes are sure to bring smiles when you serve them. Spread good cheer with delicious, sweet popcorn made in your kitchen.


Caramel Popcorn


Make caramel popcorn even more delicious by adding crunchy chocolate candies.


Make 6 quarts of plain popcorn and set aside. Mix 2 cups brown sugar, 1 cup butter, 1/2 cup honey and 1 teaspoon salt in a sauce pan. Stir and heat over medium heat until the mixture boils. Allow to boil for five minutes and then remove from the burner. Add 1 tbsp. vanilla and 1/2 tsp. baking soda and stir well.


Place the popcorn in a large roasting pan and add 2 cups chocolate candy. Pour the sugar sauce over everything and stir well.


Bake at 200 degrees for 20 minutes and cool for 10 minutes. Stir carefully and spread onto baking sheets so the popcorn cools in individual pieces. Pour into a lidded container.


Gingerbread Popcorn


Celebrate the holiday season with special gingerbread popcorn.


Make 15 cups of plain popcorn and set aside. Mix 2 cups brown sugar, 1 cup butter, 1/4 cup honey, 1/4 cup molasses, 1 tbsp. ginger, 1 tsp. cinnamon and 1/2 tsp. salt in a saucepan. Stir and heat over medium heat until boiling. Allow to boil for 3 to 4 minutes and then remove from the burner. Add 1/2 tsp. baking soda and mix well.


Place the popcorn into one large roasting pan or two smaller baking pans. Pour the sugar sauce evenly over all of the popcorn. Bake the popcorn at 250 degrees for 60 minutes. Stir several times during the baking time. Remove from the oven and cool completely. Pour into a container with a lid.


Popcorn Candy Cane Balls


Serve these delicious and imaginative popcorn balls at a holiday party. Guests can eat their popcorn candy cane balls by holding the hooks of the candy canes.


Make 14 cups of plain popcorn and place in a large bowl. Sprinkle with salt, if desired.


Mix 1 1/4 cups granulated sugar, 1 1/4 cups brown sugar, 1/2 cup honey and 2/3 cup water in a sauce pan. Stir to dissolve sugar and then add 1 tbsp. butter. Heat and stir over medium heat until the mixture is 240 degrees. Remove from the burner and pour the sugar sauce over the popcorn. Stir the popcorn well and then grease your hands.


Take a handful of glazed popcorn and shape it around the straight part of a large candy cane. Place on a baking sheet to cool and repeat to use all of the popcorn. Wrap the candy cane balls with plastic wrap when cool.
