Shape Potstickers

Pot stickers are used in soups or offered with dipping sauces.

Potstickers are delectable Chinese dumplings that are filled with a variety of ingredients then pan-fried. These dumplings get their sticky reputations because as they cook, they tend to stick to the wok or pan. You can buy premade pot stickers, but if you want to fill your own Chinese dumplings you will need to know shape them. Get a perfect crescent shape every time with a little practice.

Instructions

1. Sprinkle 2 tbsp. of corn starch on a platter and spread it around evenly. Set the platter aside.

2. Place the wonton wrapper in the palm of your left hand. Use the clean fingers of your right hand to wet the edges of the wrapper with water.

3. Scoop 1 tsp. of filling into the center of the wonton wrapper. Close your hand around the wrapper making the crescent shape. Place the potsticker on a plate and pinch the wrapper closed with your fingers.

4. Place the potstickers on the plate of cornstarch until you are ready to cook them. This will keep the dumplings from becoming mushy.
