Give Out Free Food Samples

Giving free food samples is a great way to market a new product or renew interest in an old favorite. Used in many supermarkets across the nation, free food samples are popular amongst shoppers who can grab a quick nibble while gathering the week's groceries. As popular as food sampling is, there are a few things you should know before you begin to give free treats.

Instructions

1. Make sure that you wash your hands properly before handling any food items. If you have long hair, you should also wear it back or even place it in a hair net. Not only does this help keep your samples hair-free, it also increases to appearance of cleanliness that your clients demand.

2. Wear gloves while preparing and giving free food sample. Prepare all of your utensils beforehand, such as necessary cooking items, dishes, small utensils, toothpicks and the like. Make sure that your clients are supplied with plenty of napkins as a waste receptacle for garbage.

3. Prepare the food item directly on your sampling table so that customers can see how its done. Cut the food item into bite size samples so that you can give a small portion to as many people as possible. The item should be easy to eat and should be served in small cups, on toothpicks or mini-plates.

4. Give your free samples directly to your customer. You should never allow a client to dip their hands into a sample bowl or even reach for their own sample. If you use gloved hands to offer your treats, you greatly increase the cleanliness of your sampling table.

5. Keep your sampled item nearby so that people can make a purchase if they like the product. Many people will lose patience if they are required to truck to the other side of the store to place the item in their basket; however, keeping your product on display will tempt them to by as they pass your table and taste.
