What To Use If You Don'T Have A Springform Pan

A springform pan is often used to bake cheesecake.

A springform is a specialized cake pan whose sides can be removed while leaving the cake sitting intact on the flat bottom. This feature is important for fragile cheesecakes. Although there is no perfect substitute, there are some options if you don't have a springform pan.

Use a Cake Pan with Parchment Paper

A regular cake pan, well-greased, and lined with parchment paper, also greased, can substitute for a springform. The parchment will allow you to carefully lift the cake out of the pan once it has been baked.

Use a Pie Pan

A pie pan is an option for cheesecake, which can be served from the pan without having to be removed first. You may need to use two pie pans due to their smaller size. You will probably need to reduce baking time and temperature as well.

Use a Lined Muffin Tin

Another option is a muffin tin lined with paper or foil liners. This approach will produce miniature cakes that are easily removed after baking. Again, baking temperature and time may need to be adjusted.
