Make Great Homemade Thanksgiving Stuffing

Thanksgiving stuffing, or dressing, is a much debated component of the holiday meal. Stuffing recipes range from simple to gourmet and everywhere in between. This simple recipe is sure to be an instant family favorite. Made with easy to find ingredients this stuffing brings the taste of autumn to your table. Whether you prefer to make stuffing in a pan or by stuffing a turkey, this recipe fits the bill.


Instructions


1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.


2. Place the toasted bread cubes, celery and onion in a large mixing bowl and drizzle the melted butter over them evenly.


3. Sprinkle the salt, pepper and poultry seasoning over the bread mix. Stir the mix together slowly adding chicken broth until the mixture is very wet, about the consistency of pudding.


4. Transfer the stuffing mixture into the greased baking pan and cover tightly with foil. Place on the center rack of the oven and bake for 40 minutes.


5. Remove the foil from the pan and bake an additional 15 to 20 minutes, or until the top is nicely browned and the center is no longer soft.


6. Remove from oven and let the stuffing sit for about 10 minutes before lightly fluffing it up with a large fork. The stuffing can be served directly from the baking pan or placed in a serving dish..
