5. Take your time to pick out wine that appeals to you. Don't feel pressured by sales people to spend a lot of money on wine. For example, a chain specialty grocery store carries both red and white wines for $1.99 a bottle. Research less expensive wineries and wine clubs. Sometimes a wine club is less expensive and you get to pick and choose what you like.
