Moen Extensa Faucet Installation

Moen's Extensa faucet is a single, pull-out spout and handle system that promises convenience and versatility. The faucet is a modern one and uses a cartridge that controls flow and temperature. Installing this faucet, even though it is slightly advanced in design, is not much different from installing any other single handle faucet. It takes some knowledge, the right tools and a little skill.

Instructions

1. Shut off the water supply and remove the old faucet, if necessary. Unscrew the lock nuts under the base of the old faucet, disconnect the supply hoses from the water pipes and pull the faucet out of your sink or countertop.

2. Slide the O-ring over the faucet supply hoses on the bottom of the faucet. Push the supply hoses through the base of the faucet escutcheon, or trim plate, and through the trim plate gasket. Connect the gasket to the trim plate by pushing it into the bottom of the base plate.

3. Slide the faucet hoses through the sink's center mounting hole. The base plate will cover the two faucet handle holes on either side.

4. Connect the mounting bracket to the faucet base in the center sink mounting hole from under the sink by sliding this round part up and around the supply hoses and pushing it onto the base. Tighten the lock nuts with large pliers or a basin wrench to secure the mounting hardware and faucet. You'll have to reach up and under the sink to complete this part.

5. Thread the ends of the faucet supply hoses on the top of the hot and cold water pipes in the sink cabinet and tighten them with a wrench or pliers. The left side supply hose goes on the left pipe, which is for the hot water, and the right side hose goes on the pipe on the right side, which is for the cold water.
