Make Sweet & Hot Sauce

Sweet and hot sauce goes well with chicken wings.

Sauces bring out the flavor in many dishes. Using a sweet and hot sauce makes foods such as chicken wings and kabobs tastier. It is also well suited for using in fondue. You can make the sauce as hot or sweet as your taste prefers. Hot sauces come in a variety of heat levels ranging from very hot to mild. By choosing your preferred peppery blend, you control the heat level of the sauce. Making your own sweet and hot sauce is relatively basic and takes approximately 10 minutes.

Instructions

1. Pour a preferred blend of hot sauce into a small saucepan. Use an entire 8 ounce bottle to make approximately two cups of sweet and hot sauce.

2. Add 2 heaping tbsp. of brown sugar to the hot sauce. Using brown or light will not affect the sauce. Use whatever type you have on hand.

3. Add 3 tbsp. of butter to the hot sauce mixture.

4. Dice two cloves of garlic and add to the saucepan. Substitute 1 tsp. of powdered garlic for fresh.

5. Turn the stove on medium-high heat and stir the mixture together. Continue stirring while the sugar dissolves and the butter melts.

6. Turn the stove to medium-low once the butter melts and sugar dissolves. Continue stirring occasionally and allow the sweet and hot sauce mixture to simmer for approximately five minutes. Remove from the heat and pour into a serving bowl, or directly on the food.
