Dye Chocolate

Melted white chocolate gives you the opportunity to add color.

If you wish for chocolate in a particular color not found in stores, you may want to consider dyeing it on your own. White chocolate works well on most occasions, as even the palest of colors will show well. Brown chocolate, on the other hand, is much more difficult to color. Dyed white chocolate could make for a festive dessert as a dipping sauce, or to be hardened in a mold.

Instructions

1. Microwave the white chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl for 30 seconds, powered high. Remove when chocolate is at a melted consistency. Add candy food coloring, one drop at a time. Stir well with a whisk or other metal utensil. Add more coloring for more intense color, if needed, and stir until the desired color is reached.

2. Microwave for another 30 seconds if needed. Avoid boiling the chocolate. Do not cook for longer than one minute and 30 seconds overall.

3. Leave aside to cool for about 15 minutes. Use as a dipping chocolate. To solidify, pour chocolate into a mold of your choosing and keep in the fridge for 24 hours.
