Troubleshoot A Cappuccino Maker

The world is in love with coffee. In coffee shops around the world and some kitchens, you will find cappuccino machines spewing delicious beverages. This machine is the favorite morning device of many. When it isn't working, it seems the world can't turn over its engine. Learning to troubleshoot your cappuccino maker keep your mornings bright.

Instructions

1. Check for the basics. Ensure that the cappuccino maker has water. Check that it is plugged into the wall socket.

2. Note if your coffee is taking too long, working too fast or not steaming. Pinpoint the problem by observing the symptoms.

3. Open the steam valve to release the pressure and ensure that it is working. This is similar to steaming milk. You may want to hold it in a cup of water to prevent steam build up in your kitchen.

4. Look at the grind of your espresso. If the grind is too coarse, then the coffee will come out to fast and too weak. If the grind is too fine, your machine will be slow and the brew very dark.

5. Consider decalcifying your cappuccino machine. Over time deposits from minerals in the water can build up. Run a solution of vinegar and water through your machine. Flush several times with clean water.

6. Contact the manufacturer. If you have done everything that you can for your home cappuccino maker and it is still not working properly, consult your owner's manual for contact information.
