Pour Duvel Beer

Duvel is a world-class beer. It's the leading example of the Belgian Blonde style and is known by beer-lovers around the globe for its unique flavor and alcoholic strength. Like many other beers, you'll need to pour Duvel a certain way to get the most out of drinking it. Since there are few greater tragedies in the world than a wasted glass of Duvel, follow these instructions to create the perfect pour.

Instructions

1. Choose a glass for the beer. The Duvel brewery sells a unique tulip-shaped flask that shows off the beer's color and enormous head, but if you don't have one any regular glass will do.

2. Wipe the glass clean with a moist paper towel or cloth. Duvel is amazingly clear for such a strong ale, but the glass needs to be spotless for you to truly appreciate its color.

3. Hold the glass in one hand and the open Duvel in the other.

4. Pour the beer slowly into the glass. Make sure the stream of liquid hits the side of the glass and not the very bottom. This helps grow the creamy, white head.

5. Straighten the glass out as the bottle empties. Resist the urge to pour the beer too quickly at the end, as this can cause the head to rapidly expand and flow out of the glass.

6. Take a moment to admire the fine color and balanced volume of your properly-poured Duvel before taking their first sip.
