Make A Blended Margarita

Today, you can purchase margarita mix that is quick and easy to blend with ice. There are even brands that are sold in buckets, frozen with no blending required. Nothing beats a margarita from scratch though. These slushy treats can be enjoyed year-round.

Instructions

1. Use a cut lime to moisten the edge of the glass. Rotate the glass in salt to rim the edge. This step can be skipped if you don't have rimming salt.

2. Blend together 3 ounces of Tequila, 1 ounce of orange liqueur (Triple Sec or Cointreau), 1 ounce of lime juice, and 3 cups of ice. The mixture should be slushy, with no chunks of ice. This recipe is enough for one large or two regular-sized glasses.

3. Consider adding fruit juice to the recipe for a twist on the original. Raspberry, strawberry, and peach are the most common juices added and should be used instead of the lime juice or, more commonly, in a 50-50 mixture with the lime juice.

4. Pour the mixture into the glass, taking care not to get the margarita on the edge so as to not ruin the rimming work.

5. Cut a lime into wedges and use one slice to garnish the edge of your blended margarita glass.
