Microwave Cream Of Wheat In A Mug

Microvave a hot, Cream of Wheat breakfast.

Not long ago, if you wanted to eat a hot, satisfying bowl of Cream of Wheat for breakfast, someone in your household had to heat a pan of water and prepare it on the stove-top. The cereal became more accessible to on-the-go, modern families with the addition of microwavable, instant varieties of Cream of Wheat. Find it in cinnamon, maple and brown sugar or apple and cinnamon flavors. For purists, original Cream of Wheat is also available in the convenience of a microwavable packet. Microwave a single serving of the breakfast favorite in a mug for an easy breakfast option.

Instructions

1. Choose a microwave-safe mug that will hold at least 8 ounces of liquid. Pour 1 cup of water into the mug.

2. Microwave the water for 60 seconds on the highest setting. Microwave an additional minute if the water does not boil the first time.

3. Use a pot-holder to remove the mug of hot water from the microwave. Set the mug on your kitchen work surface.

4. Tear open a single-serve packet of instant Cream of Wheat. Slowly pour the cereal into the hot water. Stir the cereal and water mixture until the cereal thickens and develops a smooth consistency.
