Hitachi Breadmaker Instructions

Experiment with white, multigrain, and fruit or nut bread recipes.

The Hitachi Home Bakery bread machine is one method of enjoying fresh, homemade loaves of bread with minimal mess or fuss. You don't need to mix the ingredients or knead the dough; the bread machine will perform these tasks for you. It also allows the dough to rise for the appropriate amount of time. Measure the ingredients accurately, add them in the correct order and let the machine do the work.

Instructions

1. Lift the lid of the appliance. Lift the handle of the bread pan and hoist it out of the machine. Insert the column of the mixing blade onto the shaft inside the pan.

2. Pour the water into the bread pan.

3. Measure out the correct amounts of flour, salt and butter, and add them in that order. Add the sugar and dry milk. Add the yeast on top of these dry ingredients; it should not touch the water. Do not mix the ingredients.

4. Insert the bread pan into the machine. You will hear a "click" when it locks into place. Press the handle down. Close the lid.

5. Plug in the machine, and press the "start" button. Change the color of the crust to a deeper or lighter brown, if desired, with the "bread color" button. If you do not use this button, the setting is automatically on "medium."

6. Wait for the timer on the display to count down to "0." This takes four hours and 10 minutes. You will also hear a beeping sound three times. This means that your bread is finished.

7. Press the "stop" button and open the lid. Use potholders to grasp the handle of the bread pan and lift it up.

8. Turn the bread pan upside down over a clean towel and shake it gently to dislodge the bread.
